Seriously Sista. I have got to put this right out there. Too many of my sisters are getting so caught up on having the right man in their life that they have forgotten about the perfect women in their life. That's right, I said it. It is time that you stop looking for Mr. Right, and start concentrating on Miss. Right Now. Here's how:
1. Get motivated
The same thing that motivates us to "get cute" to go out to the club, should motivate us to stimulate our minds with the finer things. Like education. Why? Because after that sorry man that we chose for ourselves drops us, our education is one thing that he can never take with him. Learn how to be in control in all aspects, not just the ones that are on the outside.
2. Make a commitment to yourself
The same way we can easily commit to a relationship with someone we think is a "dream come true," we should also be willing to make that same sizable commit to ourselves. When was the last time you took one of your ideas and made it a huge success. That beauty salon that we wanted to open but didn't because someone else thought we should do something different with our money. Namely, help them open their beauty shop. Yep! You know what I'm talking about.
3. Educate yourself
The same way we can go to the bookstore and buy that romance novel to fill our heads with all the fantasy that kills our brain cells and causes us to believe that we too can have a perfect relationship like theirs, we can go in the same bookstore and purchase books that stimulate our mind and teach us something in the process. Next time, try the investing section. Or even leaving that new pair of shoes on the shelf, and start an IRA.
4. Get around the right people
The same way we can find a group of friends to agree with our male bashing points-of-view, we can find an investing club, community organization, volunteering event, mentoring program, or any other something to positively pass our time. So often we throw our ideas out to people that are not moving forward into their next level of greatness. Since misery loves company, they say things in an effort to keep you from leaving them there alone. Face it. Some times we have to learn to love them from a distance. Find someone that shares the same want to progress with you. With that said, always consider the source. You most certainly can't ask someone with no money, how to make a million dollars.
5. Set a deadline
The same way we make sure we hit the club doors before 11 o'clock to get in free, we can make sure that we hit the bank before 5 o'clock to make our business deposits. If we hold ourselves accountable for our actions, and missed opportunities (just like our employer does), we will see how much potential we have to be responsible to ourselves.
Seriously Sista. Get your head in the real game. Only you can fix you.

Get in where you fit in
Seriously Sista. The market is going crazier than your drunk uncle on the dance floor at the last family reunion. However, according to a reliable source (known to all of us as history), our economy will eventually see a positive turn-around. So, now is the time to get your financial house in order. Do your research. There may not be a real "get rich quick" scheme, but you can still get rich. Make it your business to mind your business. Your money is your business. If you are not currently contributing 10% of your earnings to an AIP (Automatic Investment Plan), then you really should get on the ball. If 10% is too much, then start some where. All that matters is that you start. Seriously Sista, don't let that instant gratification keep you instantly broke.
Put on your shades!
Seriously Sista. It's your time to shine. Gone are the days when you are so consumed with everyone else's money. It's time to make your money work for you. No more "make my boss rich." It is time to move to your next best level. Stop waking up every morning to punch someone else's time clock. Instead, wake up with the full intention of renewing your mind. Exercise that main brain muscle and make your money punch the time clock in your home office. Education is the key. Serioulsy Sista, YOU CAN DO IT!
